An average 2 tank dive lasts about 4.5 hours including the safety briefing, Coral Reef Ecology briefing, two dives, a short break in between dives, snack time, looking up the different species of marine life we encounter in the ID books and sharing fish tales in between. Please note that due to logistical reasons Tunnels tour times can be up to 5.5 hours for a 2 tank dive and 4 hours for a 1 tank dive.
An average 1 tank dive lasts about 3 hours including the safety briefing, Coral Reef Ecology briefing, one dive, snack time, looking up the different species of marine life we encountered and of course sharing fish tales in between.
Actual underwater dive time varies depending on experience, diver’s physical condition, ocean conditions, depth we dive to, how calm you are and who breathes their air the quickest.
One advantage of private tours is that you know who you are diving with. As this is a guided tour we all stay together in a group, so when one person gets low on air we all stop diving and ascend together. On a private tour if you are experienced divers and/or slow breathers you know you can enjoy a longer underwater experience and not have a short dive because another diver (Who you do not know because you went on a group tour) used their air quickly.
Also, on the other hand, if you choose a private tour as a beginner and/or you are a fast breather you do not have to worry about what the other divers (who you do not know because you went on a group tour) are thinking about you because they have plenty of air left and want to stay down longer and you are using your air quickly.
